Public Health

Public Health does not require a math course as a major requirement. However, students completing this major are required to take chemistry courses that have math prerequisites.

If you have done or will do any of the following, then you will likely not need to take the Math Placement Assessment (MPA):

  • Earn college credit in a Calculus course with a grade of C-minus or better
  • Score a 2, 3, 4, or 5 on the Advanced Palcement (AP) Calculus exam
  • Score a 2, 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Pre-Calculus exam
  • Earn college credit in a Pre-Calculus 2 course with a grade of C-minus or better
  • Earn college credit in a Pre-Calculus 1 course with a grade of C-minus or better
  • Earn college credit in a College Algebra course with a grade of C-minus or better
  • For college credit earned through International Baccalaureate (IB) exams in Mathematics, please see the IB Credit Table

If none of the above applies to you, you will likely need to take the MPA.
