Behavioral Neuroscience requires that you take Pre-Calculus 2 as a major requirement.
If you have done or will do any of the following, then you will likely not need to take the Math Placement Assessment (MPA):
- Earn college credit in a Calculus course with a grade of C-minus or better
- Score a 2, 3, 4, or 5 on the Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus exam
- Score a 2, 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Pre-Calculus exam
- Earn college credit in a Pre-Calculus 1 or Pre-Calculus 2 course which transfers directly as MATH 114 or MATH 115 according to the Transfer Course Equivalency Guide with a grade of C-minus or better
- Earn college credit in a Pre-Calculus 1 or Pre-Calculus 2 course which transfers as a Western equivalent of MATH 1TT with a grade of C-minus or better
- Earn college credit in a College Algebra course with a grade of C-minus or better
- For college credit earned through International Baccalaureate (IB) exams in Mathematics, please see the IB Credit Table
If none of the above applies to you, you will likely need to take the MPA.
